Basic Function:

This is a temporary, fully paid internship working closely with SVPs, Producers, Account Executives, and Account Managers to support client servicing and sales activities. The Sales Intern assists with day-to-day account support for a defined set of clients and prospects and collaborates with internal teams to build strong working relationships. The role requires frequent verbal, electronic, and written communication and provides meaningful exposure to the commercial insurance sales lifecycle.

We believe a company is only as great as its people. This full-time, paid Sales Internship is designed to provide hands-on professional experience, mentorship, and exposure to the insurance industry. Interns support the Sales team while developing foundational skills in client service, sales support, and internal collaboration that may prepare them for future career opportunities within NFP.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Support Producers and Sales team members with day-to-day client servicing activities
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, presentations, and renewal materials
  • Help gather information for underwriting submissions and carrier communications
  • Participate in fact-finding meetings and assist with data collection
  • Support prospecting efforts, including list development and CRM updates
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and internal partners on sales initiatives
  • Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as assigned

Job Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, teammates, and partners
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-service mindset with proactive problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through on responsibilities

Education / Experience / License Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree (Business, Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, or related field preferred)
  • Prior internship, customer service, or leadership experience preferred
  • No insurance license required for the internship

The horuly range for this position is $18.00– $24.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
