Health Solutions Vice President Account Executive

We are seeking a seasoned Health & Benefits Account Executive to serve as a strategic advisor to our clients – shaping their benefits strategy, deepening executive-level relationships, and leading a high-performing client team to deliver innovative, data -driven benefits solutions that support their people and their business.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work virtually; however, employees are generally expected to be in our San Francisco office at least 2–3 days per week.

What the day will look like:

  • Lead the overall health and benefits strategy for a portfolio of complex clients—serving as their senior advisor on plan design, cost management, and people impact—by developing employee benefits strategies, leading sophisticated consulting projects, managing vendor escalations, producing client deliverables and reports, and directing both external client meetings and internal resource coordination.
  • Maintain and grow long-term client relationships through excellent service, proactive communication, and a deep understanding of clients' business and people priorities.
  • Display an in-depth understanding of the Health and Benefits marketplace, as well as Aon's Health Solutions capabilities, bringing forward new ideas, emerging solutions, and best practices that shape client decisions.
  • Possess experience and oversee key deliverables, including benefit plan design recommendations, rate and financial analyses, RFP development and response evaluation, carrier negotiations, stewardship reporting, benchmarking, and carrier contract reviews.
  • Contribute to the growth of Aon's Health Solutions practice by leading or participating in key internal initiatives that advance our intellectual capital, tools, and ways of working.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal collaboration skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to HR leaders.
  • Anticipate client needs, exercise strong business judgment, and develop innovative, practical solutions for clients that balance cost, risk, competitiveness, and employee experience.
  • Lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary client teams – aligning on client goals, delegating work effectively, measuring results, sharing ideas, identify process improvements, provide timely and candid coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Lead all aspects of vendor negotiations, setting the strategy, driving terms and pricing, and coaching team members to build their negotiation skills. Act as strategic resource and mentor for consultants and analysts, helping them grow their technical knowledge, consulting skills, and client impact.
  • Exhibit thought leadership—understand and be able to Aon's strategic perspective on industry trends and translating market insights into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.
  • Learn about other Aon solution lines and thoughtfully introduce them to clients when they can help address broader people, risk, or capital challenges.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Ten or more years of Healthcare experience, including at least five years in Health & Benefits consulting or brokerage
  • Client-facing experience within a consulting firm, insurance carrier, brokerage, or Health & Benefits function
  • Strong experience in business development, client consulting, and solution design, with a track record of driving account growth
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects and multi-stakeholder change initiatives [project management + change management]
  • Broad business acumen with the ability to connect benefits strategy to clients' overall business objectives and financial outcomes
  • Strong team building and people leadership skills, including developing and leading cross-functional teams
  • Advanced use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and data analysis to drive customer engagement, pipeline management, and growth
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience
  • Life/Accident/Health insurance license (or ability to learn license after hire)

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $155,000 - $220,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
