This is a hybrid position located in Bannockburn, IL.
The Account Specialist II will provide support to Account Executives on assigned accounts, managing- key processes, and undertaking client-facing and internal activities as they relate to the Aon Private Risk Management business group. This is achieved through effective communication and partnership with our internal and outsourced partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Risk & Insurance Operations
- Support platforms and process efficiencies used for servicing commercial lines accounts, including Certificates of Insurance (COIs), automobile identification cards, endorsements, and policy-related workflows
- Partner with brokers, account teams, and operations to ensure accurate execution of client set up on self-service portals for deliverables
- Interpret insurance documentation (e.g., ACORD forms, policy language, requirements) and ensure compliance with client and regulatory expectations
- Identify process gaps impacting client experience and recommend improvements
UAT Testing & Defect Management (Core Focus)
- Execute structured User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for internal platforms (e.g., Certificate Center, onboarding tools, reporting dashboards)
- Develop and maintain test cases, test scripts, and validation scenarios aligned to business requirements
- Proactively identify, document, and track system defects, bugs, and enhancement opportunities
- Partner with Product, IT, and SMEs to:
- Clearly articulate defect impact
- Prioritize fixes based on business risk
- Validate resolution through regression testing
- Maintain a centralized defect log with clear categorization:
- Severity (Critical / High / Medium / Low)
- Root cause trends
- Resolution timelines
Data, Metrics & Reporting
- Produce and maintain operational dashboards (Power BI, Excel) to track:
- Platform utilization
- Adoption rates
- UAT defect trends
- SLA/KPI performance
- Analyze data to:
- Identify adoption gaps and inefficiencies
- Support leadership decision-making
- Drive targeted process improvements
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of key tools such as onboarding trackers and master data repositories (e.g., MOT)
Platform Adoption & Transformation Support
- Support onboarding clients to digital platforms, ensuring data accuracy and readiness
- Collaborate across onshore/offshore teams to maintain workflow efficiency
- Document system enhancements required to improve adoption and user experience
- Assist in SOP development, process documentation, and standardization initiatives
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work cross-functionally with:
- Operations
- Technology
- Field offices
- Offshore teams
- Leverage SMEs to close knowledge gaps and improve solution quality
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide training, support and guidance to users where needed
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Commercial Insurance / Risk Management operations
- Strong knowledge of:
- Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
- Policy structures and endorsements
- Insurance servicing workflows
- Hands-on experience with UAT testing, including:
- Test case creation
- Bug/defect identification
- Regression testing
- Experience tracking and reporting defect metrics and testing outcomes
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis)
- Experience with reporting tools (Power BI preferred)
Pay Transparency Laws
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $67,000 - $75,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
