The Institutional Sales Director will be responsible for the growth of the Allianz Lifetime Income Plus product through multiple institutional channels including but not limited to: Retirement Plan Sponsors (Fortune 1000), Institutional retirement consultants (Mercer, Aon, WillisTowersWatson), Tier 1 recordkeepers, Aggregators, RIA & B/D home office retirement desks and wirehouses.

The successful candidate will have 5 to 10 years of demonstrated success in the defined contribution ecosystem and the mosaic of different providers with relationships to match. These skill sets include understanding of the commercial aspects of recordkeeping, the Defined Contribution Investment Only ecosystem and the product spectrum deployed in the defined contribution space.

The Director position requires a high level of executive presence, the ability to plan and execute the delivery of well-researched, bespoke and impactful finals presentations, move complex institutional sales forward incrementally with a coordinated, efficient, organized and inclusive project management mindset. The candidate should have experience and working knowledge of sales technology such as Salesforce, Brightscope, Money Market Directory, and Judy Diamond.

The candidate possesses a high level of independence, proactivity and a keen desire to win. Inclusive teamwork with the tendency to over-communicate with internal and external partners is a must. Team-minded, can-do positive attitudes are what we seek.

What you do:

Responsible for the growth of the Allianz Lifetime Income+ and other Allianz DC products and services through multiple institutional channels including, but not limited to, large plan sponsors (Fortune 1000), Institional retirement consultants (Mercer, Aon, WTW, etc.), Tier 1 recordkeepers, Aggregators (Captrust, Sageview, Hub, One Digital), RIA & B/D home office retirement desks (LPL, RayJay, Osaic, Cetera, etc.) and wirehouses (BAML, MorganStanley, UBS). This includes establishing, maintaining and growing relationships with these firms and planning and executing the delivery of impactful final presentations and meetings along with appropriate follow-up with executives and decision-makers.

Promoting the Allianz Lifetime Income+ and other Allianz DC products and services in the industry, representing the firm at appropriate events and conferences and providing input on product and marketing efforts.

Advanced knowledge in use of tools and resources such as Brightscope, Money Market Directory and Sales Force.

What you bring:

  • 8 - 10 years of experience required
  • 5 - 10 years of demonstrated success in retirement plan sales in the institutional retirement space selling DCIO, managed account, retirement income or full-service record keeping solutions to large institutions.
  • Four year degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • MN Insurance license required, or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time, travel up to 60 percent of the time.

Base Salary Range $225,000 - $250,000

In addition to base salary, a portion of your total compensation is based on commissions. Actual commission earned is driven by assigned territory and individual sales performance.
