About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group, a premier carrier of insurance and risk management for Fire, EMS and Rescue Squads seeks results-oriented self-starter to fill Sales Executive role to join our team. Our new associate will promote the sale of all GMP/VFIS products and services through agents to achieve premium growth, profitability and market penetration objectives in an assigned territory. This position works with independent agents in VA and the Eastern Shore of MD to sell the VFIS program including assisting in sales and service presentations. Other primary duties will include building and maintaining relationships with emergency service organizations. Significant travel required including evening appointments. This position will be filled with someone living within the designated territory.

  • Strong organizational skills are required to effectively prioritize work and consistently meet objectives.
  • Superior verbal and grammatical ability required to effectively communicate and achieve marketing objectives.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
  • Should possess strong ego drive and demonstrate empathy toward the concerns of agents, customers and prospects.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs activities that lead to sales within territory through agents.
  • Assists GHP President with the development of marketing plans for an assigned territory to include: geographic penetration, premium growth and profitability.
  • Maintains a high level of visibility and communication with key healthcare organizations by participating in conferences or meetings on a state and regional level.
  • Identifies and communicates to GHP management industry developments impacting the achievement of GHP objectives within an assigned territory.
  • Analyzes existing customers to identify account development opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Assists GHP President in the identification and development of new products and services.
  • Recognizes competitive insurance programs and is able to do a comparative analysis.
  • Develops close working relationships with key agents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years commercial property and casualty sales, marketing or underwriting experience.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry and desire to maintain active interest in the industry's activities.
  • Willing to participate in continuing insurance and sales education.
  • Previous experience in insurance marketing/sales required. Preferred candidates will have post-secondary education and a knowledge of emergency services operations.

Education

  • B.A. degree in insurance, business or related field preferred and/or professional insurance coursework.
  • Must have and maintain current Property & Casualty license.
