Welling Young, LLC has been retained by a premier client that is a rapidly growing full-service insurance company and an industry claims services leader providing custom tailored Third-Party Administration (TPA) programs to clients. Our Dallas based, national program is fast paced and growing. We are currently looking for a senior claims representative with a strong background in Auto Total Loss Claims. 

Under moderate supervision, this position handles primarily Total Loss Claims, however, may assist in handling first and third-party Garage Claims for Auto Dealerships, to include but not limited to Property Damage and Auto Physical Damage, from claim inception through resolution/settlement and payment process. Provides quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle while maintaining compliance with internal and external quality standards and State specific regulations.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Resolution of Total Losses (all types of automobiles) within all 50 States
  • Contact all appropriate parties to gather supporting documents necessary to negotiate and settle the claim within their authority level (i.e., obtaining the title, keys, and other required documentation).
  • Review controlling claim handlers’ coverage determination, summarize the review and seek clarification as needed.
  • Recognize additional coverage issues (i.e., covered equipment, endorsements).
  • Establish and/or update claim and expense reserves.
  • Control damages through the proper use of cost containment tools (i.e., mitigate storage, expenses, rental).
  • Properly manage Total Loss settlement process and rental expenses by working closely with appraisers, rental facilities, body shops, and salvage vendors.
  • Manage deductibles and limits. Review the valuation (appraisal estimate) based on the type of vehicle to effectively and efficiently resolve the claim.
  • Meet all quality standards and expectations per Best Practices.
  • Maintain an effective diary system, manage file inventory, and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Comply with state specific regulations.
  • Provide quality customer service to meet the needs of the insured, claimant as well as all internal and external customers.
  • Maintenance of Insurance License(s) is required to comply with state requirements.
  • Share experience and knowledge of creative resolution techniques to improve the claim results of others.
  • Responsible for prompt and proper disposition of all claims within delegated authority.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage loss adjustment expenses.
  • Update appropriate parties as needed, providing new facts as they become available, and their impact upon the claim settlement options.
  • Appropriately deal with information that is considered personal and confidential.
  • Represent the company as a technical resource, act within established professional guidelines as well as applicable state laws.
  • Actively provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced claim professionals to increase the technical expertise and improve bench strength.
  • Share accountability with business partners to achieve and sustain quality results.
  • Evaluate all claims for recovery potential; directly handle recovery efforts and/or engage and direct resources for recovery efforts.

Experience:

  • 5 plus years of Total Loss and Auto Physical Damage Claims Adjusting experience.
  • Commercial claims experience preferred.
  • Understanding of franchised auto dealer operations preferred.
  • Multi Line claim handling experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a minimum of 10 years Insurance Claims experience.
  • High level of organization skills.
