Business Development Rep - Field (Eastern MA, North Shore, South Shore)
Our team is growing! MAPFRE has openings for Business Development Representatives to drive profitable growth within their assigned territory. The successful candidates will be independent self-starters who can establish productive agency relationships and thrive in fast paced environments.
Prior experience with Insurance Sales, Business Development, Commercial Lines, Underwriting and/or Claims position with a company or agency desired.
Locations available in Eastern MA, North Shore or South Shore.
**Higher level position available commensurate with experience.
Competitive salary plus variable compensation.
Manage agency relations, ensuring that MAPFRE Insurance establishes and maintains the primary position for our automobile lines of business and our strategic position for the other lines of business for each agency in the assigned territory. Negotiate growth and profitability targets and monitor agency progress toward those targets. Prospect assigned territory for agency appointments and book transfers that meet MAPFRE standards. Inform Management of issues that impair agency progress toward these goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field or equivalent, relevant experience. 2-4 years of related experience as listed above. **Higher level Business Development Reps consideration based on relevant experience. Actively enrolled in a professional designation program (CIC, AU, and/or CPCU preferred). Manage agency relationships. Negotiate growth and profitability targets and monitor agency progress towards targets. Prospect assigned territory for agency appointments and book transfers that meet company standards. Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
