Job Summary

The Sales Operations Senior Consultants supports the achievement of profitable growth by developing, implementing, and leading strategies, processes and programs in the Encompass Independent Agency channel. Influences agency behavioral changes through engagement and consultation with Independent Agency owners. 

Achieve strategic objectives and business goals by effectively consulting with territory sales consultants and independent agencies.  Assists with implementation of agency processes required to improve engagement and increase growth.
The IA Sales Operations Consultant is a remote opportunity and reports to a National Sales Manager.  This is a fast-paced environment and your project management and consultation skills will be best utilized in the agile work.


Key Responsibilities

Driving and Tracking Agency Results
    Consults with agencies to drive results in order to meet business objectives
    Performs daily call-outs to agents, following up on quote pursuit
    Performs retention analysis and call-outs to agents, consulting on opportunities and addressing concerns
    Provides insights to help inform effective regional, market and/or state specific sales programs to drive results
    Ensures compliance with state, Encompass and/or Allstate rules, regulations, programs and guidelines
    Effectively communicates with internal associates and agencies, presenting business cases to influence decision-making and business results
    Works with regional territory sales consultants and cross-functional business partners to develop and implement market-specific sales tactics designed to achieve specific growth and profit goals and targeted business results

Consulting and Process Support
    Assists regional territory sales consultants and independent agency staff with the implementation of consistent business processes, with a particular focus on engagement and growth
    Provides observation, advice, input and tips and suggestions to improve processes where appropriate
    Assists in the building of best practices for the successful operation of agency owners and leverages opportunities to share knowledge/best practices across agencies, sales leaders and home office staff
    Maintains accurate and timely records of agency support through use of appropriate tracking tools
    Contacts agencies directly to ensure adherence to Encompass processes and short-term initiatives.  Examples include:
    Performs any callouts to agents verifying and documenting agent licensing
    Validates EZLynx credentials working with agent to resolve


Key Responsibilities (continued)

Communication & Relationship Management
    Acts as an ambassador for Encompass with the agencies, and takes ownership of Encompass messages
    Communicates Encompass messaging on all relevant topics, including business objectives, sales promotions and incentives, compensation and bonus structure, Allstate and Insurance Industry news
    Customizes messaging for the specific agency, assesses the implications, and suggests necessary actions
    Supports the sales leaders in communicating company business objectives (in the context of process implementation)


Job Qualifications

    3-5 years business experience, leadership experience strongly preferred.
    Experience in insurance or financial product management, sales management or general management
    Bachelor's degree required; business or technical discipline preferred. 
    Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with and influence agency owners, principals and staff; and associates within the internal Encompass organization
    Excellent communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
    Strong general management, analytical, planning and organizational skills
    Relationship Management skills - Blends people into teams when needed; creates strong morale and spirit, defines success in terms of the whole team; creates a feeling of belonging in the team
    Problem solving – Uses judgment by applying broad knowledge and experience when addressing issues
    Planning and organizational skills - Can engage resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently
    Strong knowledge of the Independent Agency insurance distribution channel, including industry competitors, major brokers and national industry associations
    Sales skills - knowledge of all aspects of sales process and drivers (examples include: projections, goals, targets, shop, buy, cross-sell, retain, profitability, compliance, quality)
    Ability to use Microsoft Office products, Allstate technology, a variety of prospecting and quoting systems and to conduct business from a remote location
    Independent agency technology needs – Ability to integrate comparative rater, agency management systems, automated re-quoting systems and processes with corresponding Allstate systems
    Limited travel
