About the Role

As the Marketing Director for this highly specialized insurance agency, your responsibilities are multi-faceted and affect the success of the sales and service teams. Plus, you have the ability to directly influence key carrier partnerships and support the process of revenue generation and retention. Most importantly, you are part of the rapid expansion within the company as their national footprint continues to grow in an exclusive niche- social services & non-profits.

Duties & Responsibilities

Carrier Development– This is the #1 responsibility as Marketing Director. You manage the overall relationship between the agency and insurance company partners. Examples of your work include:

  • Negotiate profit-sharing agreements
  • Strengthen C-suite relationships with long-running partnerships
  • Seek new carrier appointments critical in cities/states/regions where the agency’s producers are writing new business

Placement- Brokering is a vital part of your role as it directly influences day-to-day operations of the agency’s sales and service teams. Examples of your work include:

  • Personal intervention to ensure the best, most successful placement of the agency’s largest, most complex accounts
  • Provide subject matter expertise in key negotiations with underwriters
  • Procure competitive quotes that meet the client’s expectations, thus putting the agency in the best position possible to win business

Team Leadership- Lead a small centralized marketing team that plans to triple in size over the next two years. Examples of your work include:

  • Ensure overall marketing team is meeting a well-defined set of performance goals (including book concentration, %-of-opportunities closed, etc.)
  • Ensure submission-to-market and quoting timeliness
  • Train new marketing team members and assist Sales Directors with training Client Executives on the marketing information they need to succeed

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive Commercial P&C agency experience in marketing, placement and brokering
  • Successful leadership as it pertains to carrier development, contract negotiations and major account intervention
  • Prior leadership experience including employee development, process improvement and organizational efficiencies

Compensation & Perks

$180-$250k target comp depending on experience.
