As Commercial Insurance Marketer you walk into a tremendous opportunity assuming responsibility for centralized marketing functions from a current employee who is near retirement. Unlike other insurance agencies that have rolled marketing under AE positions, this firm understands the value and impact you can have on:

Duties and Responsibilities
As an experienced marketing specialist, you:

  • Spearhead new and renewal marketing plans for a variety of complex current accounts and prospective new business deals. The agency is known for its large account, risk management focus in industrial business and construction.
  • Set timelines with sales and service staff to prepare submissions, anticipated negotiations and sales presentations
  • Evaluate claims data, pricing trends and coverage enhancements to compose the best possible, most comprehensive insurance program for clients
  • Find ways to creatively bring alternative funding, loss control and other company resources into the fold to enhance the client’s risk management plan.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 5-7 years of commercial insurance experienced involved in strategic marketing, business development and client retention initiatives.
  • You are collaborative and understand how to coordinate teams and resources to keep positive, profitable business on the books.
  • Your desire to win business energizes experienced producers but also helps less experienced sales and service staff increase their knowledge, skills and capabilities.

Job Specs
Location: Home office, Detroit.

Travel: Expect 10-25% travel depending on client and carrier visits during peak times of year plus trips to the offices where production teams are housed that you support.

Experience: General commercial insurance (middle market and large, complex accounts) expertise from a retail agency being the first preference. Consideration will be given to candidates with wholesale broker/Managing General Agency backgrounds as well.

Compensation & Perks
$75k-$90k target salary depending on experience.
