In this role you will be traveling within North Dakota & South Dakota with the responsibility of growing the personal line, farm/ranch line, and small business line of State Auto's standard market business by marketing and selling company products and advantages. You will develop and implement business plans to leverage profitable growth of new and renewal business opportunities within your territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to self manage and drive growth within the territory by developing working relationships with agency partners with the goal of driving new business to all 3 lines of business.   
  • Strong understanding of the products and appetites within all 3 lines of business (PL, F/R, SmBiz)
  • Utilizes sales/marketing skills to effectively drive market penetration and grow new business opportunities through prospecting of new agency partners
  • Ability to articulate State Auto’s total value and compensation packages to maximize agency revenue
  • Effectively coordinates and leads sales calls and group presentations.  

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of related sales experience, preferred experience within P&C insurance industry, or equivalent combination of high school education and experience required
  • Successful track record of top performance in a sales environment
  • Self Motivated and Driven by results
  • Ability to effectively manage a territory of agency partner accounts and leverage profitable growth Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout North Dakota & South Dakota.  Limited national travel
  • Excellent skills in relationship building, negotiation, coaching, overcoming barriers, and capitalizing on growth opportunities
  • Versed in G-Suite applications (Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.)
  • Understanding of digital marketing and lead generation a plus
  • CPCU, CIC, M.B.A, other continued education and industry designations a plus
