Distinguished is a national insurance program manager with nearly 70,000 policy holders and more than $200 million of written premium. The company’s current distribution channel consists of more than 3,000 independent brokers & agents across the United States.  Distinguished uses a field sales team and inside sales team to reach, manage, and grow these broker relationships.  Regional Sales Executives, and their counterparts in Inside Sales are primarily responsible for generating business from existing agents and brokers, in addition to sourcing and acquiring new producing brokers.  Beyond the Regional Sales Executives, Underwriters and Customer care center associates interact with brokers & agents to work on existing business opportunities.

Position Overview:

Regional Sales Executives have annual production goals to meet – these goals include a new business goal for each product sold, and an overall goal of total new business expected for the year. In addition, a heavy emphasis is placed on opening new accounts and building relationships with agents who have either not worked with Distinguished or have worked with Distinguished on a very limited basis. Monthly bonuses in place center on developing these relationships further.

Regional Sales Executives are expected to manage the entire sales/buying process including lead generation, qualification, solution development/presentation, and negotiations and closing. Sales executives make anywhere from 30-50 calls/day cold calling for new business when they are in the office, an setup appointments to meet with clients in person an average of 3-4 days every two weeks. Territories typically span multiple states or metropolitan areas and some travel is required.

Daily tasks

  • Regional Sales Executive will work from pre-established individual production goals, track production and broker statistics
  • Acknowledge, qualify and develop leads sourced from teleprospecting and marketing
  • Regional Sales Executive will strategically orchestrate resources both internally and externally throughout the sales process to close business
  • Regional Sales Executive have a minimum of 40 viable telephone conversations a week with leads and accounts by making between 30-50 calls/day
  • Face-to-face customer/prospect meetings – an average of 3 to 4 days every 2 weeks.
  • Work hand-in-hand with service underwriters to maintain excellent client relationships
  • Regional Sales Executive will accurately capture and report all aspects of account and submission information within Salesforce.com, including managing an accurate and up-to-date pipeline and forecast.

Background/Experience Desired

  • 2+ years previous direct sales experience
  • Teleprospecting background preferred
  • 2+ years insurance industry experience desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree required
