Regional Marketing Specialist - Commercial Lines

Merchants Insurance Group, a Northeast leader in Property & Casualty Insurance has an immediate career opportunity for a experienced Regional Marketing Specialist (RMS) to support our Ohio agents.   The RMS will be stationed in our Corporate Headquarters, located in Buffalo, NY with occasional travel to visit agents within the state of Ohio (at least 1 week a month).

The Regional Marketing Specialist for our Ohio territory is charged with supporting, collaborating, and appointing independent insurance agents in the state of Ohio to assist them in achieving their goals in servicing their clients while working to achieve the company’s commercial lines growth and profitability goals.   Core responsibilities include:   Gain a deep understanding of the market, programs and products, and work closely with agency partners to understand their needs, and their clients’ needs;   maintain accurate Agency Profile’s; develop and deliver product and sales training to our agency partners using all available technologies; develop agency plans, and take ownership for helping agents meet their goals;  take affirmative actions to meet the company’s regional growth and profitability goals.    This position is primarily an inside position, located in our Buffalo, NY office that does require occasional travel to visit agents within the state of Ohio, at least 1 week a month.  A valid driver's license is required.

Qualified candidates will possess a Four-year college degree in sales and marketing or another business-related field or equivalent work experience.  Previous Commercial Lines experience required. Sales and Customer Service experience beneficial. 

Sales driven with a high energy level. Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required.  Well developed presentation skills.  Ability to use online conferencing tools such as Skype and GoToMeeting.  Superior customer service skills.  Proficiency with Powerpoint, Word and Excel is required.  Ability to travel to Ohio at least 1 week a month.
