Benefits Account Manager - Small Group

Austin, Texas (US)

To develop, enhance and solidify client relationships by providing exceptional customer service, and by maintaining and expanding account lines of business in a collaborative team setting.

Job Functions

  • Maintain consistent and continuous communication with team, employees, Senior Account Managers, Account Executives, clients and management through the use of the Firm’s secured and controlled Communication Systems;
  • Complete client servicing tasks related to new business set up, applications, status changes, benefits account marketing including proposal/binder preparation, ordering policies, issuing ID cards, certificates, invoicing services, processing policies and initiate follow-up to previously assigned request/claims;
  • Develop and support client proposals/presentations and assist with client service plan;
  • Communicate and assist the Senior Account Managers
  • Support Account Executives/Producers and other client support team in meeting the client’s needs;
  • Process implementation tasks
  • Complete renewal processing
  • Maintain current and accurate customer databases and files; 
  • Regularly assess and identify client and team needs or issues and communicate with the Account Executive/Producer/CSR  and/or Firm management;
  • Act as a positive role model for co-workers and other team members in terms of work ethic, support of the Firm’s goals and objectives, focus, results and level of positive energy;
  • Work additional hours, in addition to the Firm’s core hours, to best serve the Firm’s and client’s needs.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point;
  • Professional phone and electronic mail communication skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment and participate in a collaborative environment, including willingness to provide leadership and innovation;
  • Flexibility and creativity for developing innovative and customized business solutions;
  • Exceptional relationship development skills and interpersonal skills;
  • 4-6+ Years of Insurance Related Experience;
  • Life & Health Insurance License
  • CEBS or CLUI designation preferred, not required
