Be a strategic leader of a dynamic Real Estate Asset Management team! This highly visible position will help develop and directly lead the vision and strategy for global corporate real estate at Assurant. The role will have responsibility for establishing relationships with business leaders across the company, understanding key business drivers and occupancy requirements, and developing both short and long-term real estate strategies based on robust financial and operational needs analysis. This position will be part of Assurant Asset Management and work in conjunction with both the Investment Real Estate team (which invests Assurant capital in real estate assets across the capital structure) as well as the Enterprise Facility Management team.
  • Help develop, directly lead the approach, and help drive enterprise level decision making for global corporate real estate strategy at Assurant.
  • Develop relationships with senior management and business leaders across the company to gain and maintain a robust understanding of the operational needs of Assurants diverse businesses
  • Leverage external resources and service providers as well as internal real estate, investment, and financial/accounting expertise (including asset management and corporate real estate facility operations)
  • Perform robust financial and operational analysis to develop and support specific short and long-term strategies, decisions, and forecasts
  • Effectively communicate recommended strategies / decisions, key insights, potential risks, action plans, as well as economic value creation (both projected and actual) to senior management, relevant committees, and business leaders across the organization
  • Negotiate and execute on real estate plans and transactions associated with corporate real estate strategies and decisions
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading in the field of global corporate real estate business planning/strategy, client relationship management and analytics
  • Understanding of real estate finance and the economics of real estate transactions and portfolios
  • Background in strategic real estate transactions, asset management, lease operations and management, investment analysis, and labor market analysis for a large corporation

  • Proven leader with team-oriented interpersonal skills that is capable of working with senior leaders of the organization and has the ability to drive change within an organization
  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate, prioritize and define responses to complex business matters
  • Ability to prepare, present, and communicate financials, strategy, and status effectively to all levels of internal management
  • Advance Microsoft Excel capabilities
Travel 25 % Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or Economics
  • 12 to 15 years of experience working in the field of real estate business planning/strategy, client relationship management and analytics
