Group Benefits - Voluntary Sales Territory Manager
This position reports to the Voluntary Sales Director and is a highly visible role in driving future growth in the Voluntary benefits marketplace. This is a remote position (must be based in California ) and is a field focused position which works with the field sales team and relationship management teams to generate profitable growth and revenue to the company’s Voluntary Benefits Segment. Additionally, this role will partner closely with Voluntary Benefits Group and other Home Office partners in future product/capability design, process improvements, and strategic initiatives in support of Voluntary Segment.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work with the Voluntary Sales Director and local field management to execute territory operating plan designed to drive profitable growth and strengthen the brand as a leader in Voluntary Benefits.
· Develop and implement innovative sales strategies that will differentiate Voluntary Benefits products and services in the market.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with field sales and relationship management staff in assigned region.
· Partner closely with assigned field leadership to drive sales and relationship management execution, training, and pipeline management (both new and in-force).
· Be a meaningful marketplace presence within assigned regions to help grow existing producer partnerships and cultivate new relationships.
· Lead efforts within assigned regions to increase field expertise and competency with an intense focus on training, knowledge transfer, best practice sharing, and strong partnership and coordination with Sales Excellence partners.
· Establish and maintain superior partnerships with other functional areas such as underwriting, claims, technology, product, marketing, actuarial, legal, compliance and human resources.
· Be consultative within assigned regions at the case level on large/complex opportunities, including RFP assessment, producer/employer discussions, enrollment/education strategy, finalist support, etc.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of prior sales or service experience with specific emphasis and successful track record in Voluntary sales, product development, or account management, preferably in worksite benefit sales.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
· In-depth knowledge of voluntary specific products, enrollment and billing requirements – including a keen understanding of the competitive landscape.
· Strong organizational and communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation.
· Exceptional relationship management and influencing skills; Able to work successfully across the field and home office cross-functional areas to influence outcomes and drive results

· Role may require 30-40% regional travel
· Must reside in the Pacific west coast area of California
SALARY: Very high based salary plus unlimited cap on commission
