JOB SUMMARY:
Inside Sales is a recently formed and growing team that aims to maximize sales efforts in strategic cities and key areas in coordination with outside sales. Distinguished is looking for an energetic, self-driven, goal oriented person to work with brokers and agencies in a business-to-business sales environment through phone, email, and social media as an Inside Sales Representative (ISR). This position will be a key contributor to Distinguished’s growth and profitability going forward. The ISR will be responsible for business growth in our Umbrella, Builders Risk, D&O and Crime products by appointing new brokers and increasing production from existing ones. The ISR will be required to understand market trends and the competitive landscape to provide insight and value to our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Identify and develop new producing broker relationships with a focus on forming multi-account producing relationships
- Work with existing producing brokers to identify new brokers within their agency not currently working with Distinguished
- Contact these new prospects to present Distinguished’s suite of programs
- Thoroughly understand the broker’s registration and submission processes within the first month
- Quickly obtain expertise in Distinguished’s broker portal where online applications are submitted for quoting and binding purposes.
- Tailor messaging to your broker, customer service representative, or agency owner
- Utilize Salesforce.com and sales metrics to build and maintain accurate records on prospects and producing brokers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be comfortable cold calling and working in a “bullpen” environment
- Successful candidates are outgoing, self-motivated, able to multi-task, and possess a desire to learn
- Thrive in a minimal supervision, goal oriented environment
- Remain curious, provide insight regularly and be innovative both internally to the team and externally to the broker
- High energy and a desire to grow the business is required to meet the demands of high volume outbound sales calls
- 2-3 years of successful outbound calling experience
- High school diploma
- College degree desirable
- P&C Insurance license preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence
- Team player- ability to adjust, adapt, and assimilate into a high performing team
