Regional Sales Director for our Preneed Division will manage client relationships by building and maintaining a positive association with key client contacts at all levels of partner organizations, ensuring deliverables from Assurant are provided on time, every time. Must be able to use diplomacy, tact, and analytical skills to support client in driving sales. In addition, be an advocate for Assurant Preneed to achieve sales objectives. Key responsibilities
  • Assist in joint field sales calls, call nights and door knocking sessions with client counselors
  • Serve as an internal and external liaison between our client and Assurant departments including performing project management functions, implementing new products and programs, and assisting our client's sales force in growing existing programs
  • Assist, as directed, in the development and delivery of training on Assurant programs/products to the client sales force
  • Troubleshoot and source appropriate support channels internally, and monitor progress of assigned tasks through regular follow-up and escalation as necessary
  • Assist client in recruiting Prearranged Funeral sales counselors, including assisting with placement of recruiting ads, follow up on the ads, screening and interviewing as requested by client managers and influencing the hiring decisions.
  • Support and assist in training new client counselors on the sales process and presentations including in home sales, evenings, weekends as needed
  • Ability to work in a team environment supporting various markets as directed by management
  • Complete, as assigned, client on-line training programs. Become familiar with client Website including, but not limited to, reports and counselor training programs
  • Be able to effectively discuss various production reports provided by Assurant and through the client sales report portion of their Website
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of successful experience in selling to consumers (preferably preneed sales) and/or training people to sell to consumers
  • Must be flexible to travel: Up to 75% of the time
  • Bilingual Speaker (Desirable)- Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Spanish
Other requirements/ Skills:
  • Insurance Life license for state of residence is mandatory for position. If currently not licensed, the candidate must have the ability to acquire a license and be appointed with American Memorial Life Insurance Company within the first 90 days of hire date
  • Must have strong communications skills both verbally and written and have excellent presentation skills
  • Must have strong skills in use of web-based programs for training purposes
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously and execute assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Flexibility is a key component of this position. The candidate must be able to adapt to the changes initiated by both Assurant and the client with respect to both sales and geographic responsibilities
  • Candidates must be coachable and trainable in both client and Assurant processes and procedures
  • Possess strong computer skills which would include the following programs: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of successful experience in selling to consumers (preferably preneed sales) and/or training people to sell to consumers
