POSITION OBJECTIVE: Account Managers at Assurance ensure each project and client service deliverable is executed flawlessly. He or she has the knowledge, drive, and ability to manage a book of business and consult with our clients to effectively manage their risk. Account Managers are integral in our client retention by working with the service team to execute our client service platform created for each insured and build effective working relationships with clients and prospects. Account Managers have an understanding of the marketplace and take initiative to keep on top of the ever-changing world of insurance. Account Managers mentor their service team and establish strong effective working relationships within the company. They share market knowledge at team meetings, identify business process improvements to help create efficiencies enthusiastically engage in our culture.

EXECUTION OF CLIENT SERVICE

• Ensures that all proposals include service strategies, commitment reports and other specific exhibits as per our best practices

• Works with producer(s), service team, and other internal departments to flawlessly execute our service strategy

• Reviews programs to identify coverage gaps and makes coverage recommendations based on clients’ operations and exposures/employer needs

• Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and that the needs of our clients are handled quickly and effectively

• Leverages insurance knowledge and communication skills to explain coverage terms, program options, and other issues to clients as needed

• Effectively manages time to ensure workload is prioritized, client needs are addressed, and agency expectations on client service and business process are meet

DATA INTEGRITY AND PROCESS QUALITY

• Maintains accurate and complete client data in agency management systems including policy detail, activities, and attachments

• Consistently achieves data integrity and meets activity timeliness and quality metrics and goals

• Follows processes and procedures in servicing workflow, maintaining appropriate and clear documentation of client and carrier conversations, actions taken, and follow-up actions required

MARKET STRATEGY AND NEGOTIATING

• Works with service team to effectively manage and oversee new business and renewal process following our best practices and guidelines

• Follows our best practices on submission quality through the marketing process

• Follows up with underwriters on submissions and negotiates premium and coverage with insurance carriers

• Proactively evaluates coverage, terms, and conditions of quotes received from underwriters for compliance and accuracy to our applications and identifies deficiencies

• Compares quote options from multiple carriers and presents coverage comparisons as needed

• Prepares accurate proposals based on client information and insurance quotes, and assists in the presentation of proposal as needed

• Remains current on forms, coverage, insurance carriers, industry trends, and legislation

• Maintains positive working relationships with insurance carriers and understands how individual relationships could impact our overall relationship with a carrier; attends meetings and events as appropriate; proactively learns about their products and underwriting approaches; supports their knowledge of our client base and value proposition

PEER RELATIONSHIPS AND SELF-DEVELOPMENT

• Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with service team to discuss accounts, renewals, day to day service needs, service platform, etc

• Trains, guides, and mentors Client Service Representatives/Account Coordinators and other peers as needed

• Communicates effectively with Client Service Representatives/Account Coordinators and provides timely and complete information to allow them to efficiently manage their processes and workload

• Creates successful and effective working relationships with Producers, other service team members, managers, carriers, and employees in other agency departments

• Participates in seminars, classes, and webinars for skill and knowledge development

REQUIRED:

• Producers License (in state of residence) for Fire, Casualty, Health, Life

• 2+ years Account Manager experience within an insurance brokerage, or comparable

PREFERRED:

• BS/BA in Business, Insurance or related field

• CPCU, ARM, CEBS, or other professional insurance designation

• Intermediate or advanced skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint
