This position develops and manages agency relationships including the development of new business and retention of profitable existing business for the Illinois and Indiana territory.  The position serves as a liaison between the agency partners and our company personnel.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring an agency plan for the IL/IN territory.
  • Generate new business submissions through networking with independent agents in the territory of IL,IN, and eastern MO.
  • Assist the Underwriting Dept. with triaging new business submissions, ie, data gathering and preparing opportunities for underwriting analysis, or declining submissions based on appetite guidelines
  • Assist the agents in selling Synergy Coverage Solutions to prospects
  • Act as the agent’s liaison to company personnel to resolve any issues on existing renewals or customer service
  • Create/appoint new broker/agent relationships
  • Cancel/terminate broker/agency contracts when necessary
  • Identify industry needs in class of business and /or products
  • Collect data regarding competitors, trends and opportunities

Job Requirements:

  • Highly motivated & well organized
  • Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Works independently, as well as, part of a team.  
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Computer skills to include Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • 5 years’ experience in positions including marketing or sales
  • Experience in underwriting, loss prevention, or claims is a plus
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry is preferred
  • Overnight travel is required
  • Comfortable with presentations
